Theme Time this Thurs

First things first: Congratulations and best boaty wishes to Ballarat band Tessa & the Typecast (who were kind enough to send me one of their cds but it got lost in the ether somewhere, boo! : ( ) heading off to New York to record their debut EP! Catch them play on Thursday:

After selling out the launch of their single “Painter” last week; due to overwhelming industry demand they’ve squeezed in an encore performance before Tessa leaves for New York City three days later to put the finishing touches to their highly anticipated EP. You can listen to the show before you head into town, as we’ll be hitting ya’ll with a special theme of FUNKY AND OTHERWISE UNIQUE PERCUSSION (we’ll play some Tessa too for good measure). Plenty of new music, old classics and giveaways to boot so tune on in- 6-8 this Thursday night! You can hear the likes of this: Pastor T.L Barrett, handpicked by Ms Lauren Daly and in her words, “Hey, that *@#*! would get me to church!”

Catch Ballarat writer (and all round good guy) Nathan Curnow’s play reading this Sunday, and head on down to the Grace Darling afterward to catch a pal of mine Sophia Brous, kicking off  a residency, also at the Grace Darling.
