Upcoming Excitements!
Next week on the show, Strange News will be tantalising the tastebuds with guests sharing recipes and related food songs, should be fun!
Then the following week, July 8th we’ll be having a LIVE special, featuring some great live recordings as well as inviting some fabulous guests into the studio to share their musical wares.
Please get in touch if you’d like to be involved with either. Exciting, igniting & delighting, oh yeah.. Check out James Brown’s Mother Popcorn. Ow!
Best Of. Giddeup
Nice one Lorenzo, cuckoo! Hey I didn’t know this but Betty Davis was married to Miles, also pals with Hendrix (and Sly of course). It all makes sense. Ah good music, good music.
And speaking of, we were at the Mallow Pub last night for singer/songwriter night Wax Lyrical and it was pretty inspiring. Think I’ll brave the stage next time (eek!) and we’ll be having an interview with Pete that runs the night, so listen out for it.
Anywho, last night’s Tinderbox was a Best Of our themes thus far (cue end of season montage…). If you missed it you can catch it again on saturday 7-9. Just tune your radio dial to 99.9!

Songs & Stories
Greetings listeners!
It looks like last week’s playlist may have beat a retreat for warmer climes (perhaps inspired by our coconut island improv weather reading??).
We’ll put it up if it decides to return, but highlight of the show was Strange News From a Distant Star with Julian Potter on geetar with assistance from Miss L.Daly doing creative readings (will post readings soon!) from the book Archy & Mehitabel by Don Marquis:
“They are the most unlikely of friends: Archy is a cockroach with the soul of a poet, and Mehitabel is an alley cat with a celebrated past — she claims she was Cleopatra in a previous life. Together, cockroach and cat are the foundation of one of the most engaging collections of light poetry to come out of the twentieth century.”
Amazing stuff. We also had an interview with Matthew Fagan, guitarist extraordinaire, and featured some down and dirty Betty Davis with Sly & the Family Stone on the rhythm section and great new album from three-piece the XX.
And in concert news, what will it be this Sunday people: Hope Sandoval or Daryl Braithwaite. It’s all in your hands…
